In partnership with UNSW Canberra Space, and with the involvement of an ADFA (Australian Defence Force Academy) cadet, Cingulan Space has developed and commissioned a new Interferometry Receiver to increase Australia’s space domain awareness (SDA).

The SDA receiver located at Cingulan Space’s Yass Station is designed to receive a signal from satellites. The signal is captured and made available to researchers, who are investigating the effects of viewing the signal from different locations. The capability provided contributes directly to space domain awareness as the data it provides allows researchers to better understand and develop methods towards tracking space objects.

By partnering with ADFA, Cingulan Space hosted a third-year RAAF electrical engineering intern, and provided an invaluable opportunity for on-the-job learning and exposure to various facets of the space and satellite industry.
